Weekly Winners Sunday 6/8/08

Weekly Winners, hosted by Lotus.

Click for larger images (because they do look better full-sized) or take a peek at the entire album at once and/or watch as a slideshow at this link.

(Clicking the name of any recipe I ever mention will always take you to it.)

This is healthy, yummy, different and perfect for summer.
The white on the bottom bun is plain yogurt, not mayo, and I added extra spice on top, and, yes, I've explained about this delicious joy in the past, but sometimes people don't listen properly. ;)

Southwestern Chicken
Absolutely fabulous, healthy and crazy easy.
Excellent fajita style or on its own, and it's healthy enough to add a small bonus portion of badness like tortilla chips next to it.

Quiet Kitchen
(really does look better if you click for the bigger image, and you can see what yummy flavor)

Surprise Random Peacocks
Did you know that peacocks sound almost like very loud cats when they get going and that the girls are called peahens? Oh, the things I learn...

Sisters of Another Mother
(I'd never seen these before; anyone know what they are?)

First, I have to say I love your new blog look~so pretty! Great winners this week Maggie :) The food ones look divine, the blueberry tea looks so calming, the peacock ones are stunning, the flower ones are absolutely gorgeous. The plume one~I looked it up, wasn't sure what it was & found out it's a feather~but a feather on what?!? That's all the dictionary says: A large or conspicuous feather. Since you posted the peacock pics, is it possibly a featehr from a peacock?!? ;)

My God, Maggie, these are gorgeous pictures again this week! The peacock pictures are my favourite, but your food looks great too!
Have a great day!

Connie - yep, it's a peacock's, um, rear feathers ;)

I HAVE to try your recipes soon! Have you gone to culinary school?

Love the flowers and the peacock pictures! I said pea... cock... HAHAHAHA!

I LOVE that tea cup! You are getting pretty darn close to a year chica.
You pretty much have your act together in every way possible. You are a force to be reckoned with, and what's more...I'm honestly and truly proud of ya.

Tandoori burgers...what a GREAT idea?

How are you going to prepare the peacocks? maybe a nice demiglaze under a glass bell? :-)

I really like the new blog look! It's very cool.

The peacock pictures are amazing - you can really see the amazing detail in their plumes. Cool!

Chicken burger? Hmmm...sounds really good!

Those peacock photos are wonderful!

And you're making me hungry, but after the Oreos photo, I suppose that's appropriate payback. ;)

maggie said...

Secret Agent Mama - nope, no cooling school and no talent other than following recipes and feeling inclined to cook :)

Great photos! Love the flowers and the peacock.

I think those "mystery flowers" are dogwoods -- there are lots of varieties.

Gawd, I shouldn't have come here, now I'm HUNGRY! (8.5 lbs down, 20 million to go.) Beautiful pictures, though!

That burger looks great. And, did the peacock land on your roof? It's horrible to wake up to. The eccentric lady behind my parents' house had them. They are VERY loud, reproduce like rabbits, and are very annoying.

As always Maggie, you've outdone yourself!
I wish I could think about a camera more often......

Oh my gosh, these posts make me want to pack up and come live with you!! Your cooking is delicious, I can TASTE it.

I haven't seen a peacock since I was a young girl...they are such beautiful and have such magic (or magitch as my girls would say) :)

Colleen said...

Great photos! There are a ton of peacocks that wander, un-penned, at our local county zoo. They can be SO LOUD! You can hear them from all over the grounds!

Janet said...

Talk to the plume LOL! I love that pink flower with the big green thing in the middle!
