Thursday Thirteen 7/31/08 - 28th Edition

The First 13 Things I Do Once Morning Has Broken
  1. Dream that I'm hearing the alarm clock.
  2. Realize that I'm not dreaming.
  3. Hit snooze.
  4. Snuggle close to my no employment needed kitty.
  5. Fall back asleep wondering why I couldn't have been born the cat in my good home.
  6. Sleep for 9 minutes.
  7. Dream that I'm hearing the alarm clock.
  8. Realize that I'm not dreaming.
  9. Debate whether sleeping in for just 9 more minutes would completely screw up the day.
  10. Lecture myself that I'm an adult and that I have to get up.
  11. Stumble half asleep to bathroom.
  12. Snuzzle the kitty that's jumped on my lap.
  13. Promise myself I'll go to bed earlier that night knowing that I lie like the bath rug at my feet.
Today is smoke-free day 410, and I'm still counting.

LOL seems mornings are pretty much the same everywhere!!!

Yup, the universal morning! Although lately Luna has been kneading my back in the early mornings...not hard enough to break the skin, but prickly enough to wake me up.

I remember mornings like this. Now it's the kids that get me up, and I don't dream the alarm anymore. I fall out of bed on the first ring.

You have described my morning to a tee - if you substitute the cat for a cold dog nose! Great post!

Your morning sounds really familiar! Kim

That was funny. To read. I'm a morning person, and I LOVE waking up before the sunrise and enjoying the beauty of the peace and quiet before everyone else in the world gets up and the day's noises begin.

Happy T-13. Again, I have a return of Jefé --and her witty thirteen statements on life. Come on over, have a laugh or two!

Anyone who says that cats don't have better lives than us is dumb.

I had a hard time getting up this morning and am dragging right now. I also need to get to bed earlier, but it never seems to work out, does it?

Sounds a lot like my mornings! Happy TT and here's to going to bed earlier... HAH!

I had a roommate in college that actually JUMPED out of bed when her alarm went off. I hated her.

The title reminds me of that Cat Stevens' song :-)

Sounds so familiar. Especially #13! Just replace the kitty with a dog.

Aren't the days you can sleep in just so sweet :)

Such a lovely T-13 header today … (it goes so well with your topic) … did you make it yourself? I’m such a morning person these almost sound luxurious to me somehow, but (alas) I usually awaken EARLY w/o an alarm and can’t ever go back to sleep. I counted myself fortunate this morning to sleep in until a few minutes after 6am because I’m usually up by 4am even though I’m retired and have no reason to be up.
Hugs and blessings,

Maggie,
I normally do what you do and hit the snooze button but since I have not been working I have been sleeping late! The party is gonna end Monday since the principals come back from break and its time for me to start calling to follow up on jobs.
Peace,
Diva

Haha! My older cat has gotten into the habit of meowing in my face as soon as my alarm goes off. So even if I hit snooze, she stands right in front of me and meows cat breath into my face. Yum.

That usually adds cursing to my morning. :-)

I'm very new to blogging and have never participated in a meme. How does it work ~ what do I have to do?
